Pregnancy Miracle - Natural Treatment For Infertility

When a pregnancy has not occurred after at least one year of unprotected sexual intercourse or coitus, infertility is said to exist. About 14% of couples in the United States are infertile. In about 40% of couples with an infertility problem, the cause of infertility is multifactorial; in about 30% of couples, it is the man who is infertile; 20% to 25% of couples experience ovulatory failure; another 20% experience tubal, vaginal, or uterine problems as the cause of their infertility. In as many as 25% of couples, no known cause of infertility can be discovered despite all the diagnostic tests currently available. Now, the question is this: what is the natural treatment for infertility?

Number one: Ditch the Pill. Although you may notice certain irregularities in your cycle and may take a few months for your cycle to return to normal, many women are fertile the first month after they stop taking the Pill. Number two: Quit smoking, drinking, and taking drugs. These vices greatly diminish your chances of getting pregnant and can lead to miscarriages, premature birth, and low-birth weight babies.

Number three: Monitor your body weight. Studies suggest that women whose body mass index or BMI is below twenty or above thirty have a harder time getting pregnant. Number four: Manage your stress. According to research, stress management techniques such as yoga and meditation can also help in getting pregnant.

Number five: Find the right timing and the right sexual position. The best time to get pregnant is, of course, when the woman is ovulating. Also, many experts suspect that the missionary position provides the best opportunity for getting pregnant. This is because this position allows for the deepest penetration which deposits sperm closer to the cervix.

By using a natural treatment for infertility, you can get naturally.

A Pregnancy Guide For Second Trimester

The second trimester begins with the 13th week of pregnancy. Most women find the second trimester of pregnancy easier than the first and third one. By the second trimester, the early symptoms of pregnancy like fatigue and morning sickness usually disappear and the mother-to-be can feel her baby. In this pregnancy guide, we will discuss about the fetal developments that occur during the second trimester and the symptoms that an expectant mother experiences during this period.

A woman starts gaining weight in the second trimester. Her belly starts showing. On an average, a woman gains around one pound every week. Some problems that you might experience during this period are constipation, swelling of feet, heartburn, constipation, backache, and nose blockage. Heartburn is a common symptom as the acids from the stomach run back to the esophagus due to the relaxing of the valve between stomach and esophagus. Backache is caused due to the growing size and weight of the baby. Moreover, the body produces hormones to relax the muscles of the lower body. This also results in body ache. Constipation is caused by increased levels of progesterone, which make the digestive system sluggish. Some women experience breathlessness as the lungs find it difficult to expand due to the enlarged size of the uterus.

During the second trimester, the baby grows very fast. The baby´s eyes, eyebrows, ears, and lips get fully developed. The skin of the baby is sensitive and covered with very fine hair called ´lunugo´. The uterus of the expectant mother starts expanding, which sometimes results in abdomen pain. The heart of the baby grows stronger and the lungs develop further. The legs and arms of the baby grow, and the expectant mother starts feeling the kicks. All the bones of the baby get developed during the second trimester. At the end of second trimester, the baby starts shedding its lunugo. The baby weighs around 2 pounds and measures around 10 inches at this time. Instead of wrinkled skin, the baby´s skin starts smoothening, as fat starts depositing underneath it. The baby sleeps and wakes up at regular intervals. Thumb or finger sucking also start during the second trimester and the baby can hear external sounds.

A pregnant woman should read a pregnancy guide and follow her gynecologist´s instructions carefully. This will help her to know more about pregnancy. She will also become aware of the different medical tests needed to be taken during the different stages of the pregnancy. A guide will also help her deal with the problems of pregnancy.

What is My Probability of Conceiving a Boy Or a Girl Child? How Can I Improve These Odds? By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sandy_Dean]Sandy Dean I sometimes get emails which ask me what are the chances or odds of conceiving a boy or a girl baby. The answer to this is that they are almost equal. (Technically the odds are 51% for having a boy and 49% for having a girl, but this is close enough.) People also sometimes assume that if girls or boys are running in their family, then the father must be only giving off the sperm that creates whatever gender is running in the family. For instance, I recently heard from a woman who had three daughters. She desperately wanted to conceive a boy, but she was assuming that her husband must only be contributing X or girl sperm. She even assumed that each of her husband's testicles produced one sperm chromosome and that the testicle that produced boys must have been damaged or turned off somehow. This is not at all likely to be the case. Research indicates that each time you conceive, you have the same roughly even odds of the outcome. Men produce roughly equal Xs and Ys from both testicles and there is no way to turn this off and on to influence this. However, the woman or mother can make changes. And these can sometimes change the odds. I will discuss this more in the following article. How Gender Probability Works And Why It's Mostly Even: Before I get into how you can change the odds, I want to briefly go over how gender is determined. As I said, the father contributes both X and Y equally. If this same man has produced only girls in the past or only boys, people will often assume that this is because he is only able to produce one gender. Research tells us that this isn't true and that his production is pretty much equal and the same each time. Many people don't believe me when I say that you have to same 51 / 49 odds for your third pregnancy as you do with your first. You are dealing with the same X and Y chromosomes from the man and the same X that the woman contributes. And every time it's an X that fertilizes the egg, you will get a girl. Every time a Y makes it, you will get a boy. This is true whether it's your first pregnancy or your fifth. Only 12 percent of families are made up of three boys, but this doesn't mean that the father in these families only produces Y sperm. It could mean that this was the luck of the draw. It could also mean that the mom in this situation ran toward the alkaline or that the couple made a habit of conceiving after ovulation. They might also prefer deep penetration when they have intercourse. The Things That You Can Do To Increase The Probability Of Having The Gender That You Want: Many couples will assume that since they can't see what the man is contributing, they just have to hope that they get lucky with his contribution and roll the dice. This isn't entirely the case. No, you can't really control the father's contribution. And the mother is always going to give an X. But what you can control is the environment in the reproductive system that is going to favor one over the other. See, the Y sperm don't live for long and sometimes don't survive long enough to fertilize the egg. If you want a girl, you need to take advantage of this. And, the X sperm are pretty slow moving. If they have a vulnerability, it's their lack of speed. If you want a boy, you should take advantage of this. How can you do these things? Well, you set it up to create the best set or circumstances for either X or Y, depending on which you want. If you want a girl, you try to weed out the Y's by having intercourse early and before ovulation. You also try to make yourself acidic through diet and douching and you use shallow intercourse positions. If you want a boy, you want to strongly discourage the X's. You do this by treating the Y's with kid gloves. You wait until after ovulation. You make yourself alkaline and you use deeper penetration when you have intercourse to conceive. I've put together a few websites that take a lot of the guess work out of choosing your baby's gender when getting pregnant. You'll find step by step instructions, resources for determining ovulation times, douche recipes and food PH lists, information on when to conceive, tips, support, and examples of ovulation predictors / PH testing strips. Pregnancy Calculation Tricks For the Excited Mother

Pregnancy Calculation Tricks For the Excited Mother
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Anita_Agrawal]Anita Agrawal

We all need pregnancy calculation to know about the due date of the baby. W need this to prepare well in advance for the baby and also because we are keen to know when the baby is arriving. The excitement is unbeatable and there is much eagerness in all of us.

To calculate due date you need to go by the LMP date (Last Menstrual Period). The first day of the LMP is taken into consideration to arrive at the delivery date. 280 days are added to the first day of the LMP
This is usual for women who fall into the pattern of a normal 28-days menstrual cycle but for those who have irregular cycles or do not conform to the 28-days cycle, the results may not be satisfactory. Any pregnancy calculator, even the pregnancy calculator week by week will give only a rough idea of the due date; only god can say exactly when the baby will choose to come!

Nowadays Ultrasound is increasingly being used to find out the age of the baby in the womb,. The next step for some would be perhaps to go in for a gender predictor pregnancy test and for this amniocentesis is supposedly the most accurate.
Pregnancy calculation is necessary but, as mentioned earlier, no pregnancy calculator will be able to give a totally accurate date as science has not yet overcome all the mysteries of nature. It has been truly said that man has still not controlled the birth time and death time of any individual, pregnancy calculation is just a rough guide and no more.Click Here!to get pregnancy calculation tricks for the excited mother

How to Improve Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

micheal jordan
For countless women, becoming pregnant is relatively easy. For others, it can be far more complicated. Many women feel helpless if they do not conceive quickly, and they begin to think there may be a serious fertility problem. There are many things women can do to increase their fertility levels and therefore, improve their chances of having a baby.

Keep a Positive Attitude

Research has shown that physical health is not the only issue, where conception is concerned. Having a positive mental attitude can make an enormous difference. Negative thoughts will often hinder your chances of conceiving. As stress level rise, fertility levels can fall. Try not to worry too much about getting pregnant quickly. Take time out of your busy schedule to unwind. Everyone has different methods of relaxing, so think about what you can do to achieve this.

For some, it can be as simple as taking a warm, candlelit bath. Others may need more help. Aromatherapy massages and reflexology are wonderfully calming and can make a huge difference to your state of mind. Aromatherapy may also be used to regulate menstrual cycles. Certified aroma therapist can  be found on the internet or in your local business directory.

Just spending some quality time with your partner can help. Try to do activities together in your spare time and make sure that you both enjoy them. This alone can heighten the emotional aspects of your relationship and remove some of the stress that so easily builds up when you are trying for a baby.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been known to have a very positive affect on fertility, when used in conjunction with IVF. Research in to its effects on fertility alone, are incomplete. Though, smaller studies have shown that it can be beneficial.

Acupuncture has been used by Chinese medics for around 5,000 years and is renowned for having amazing effects on a variety of ailments. However, its benefits have only been recognised by American medics for the past few decades.

If you are interested in trying out acupuncture, always find a reputable, certified acupuncturist. The National Institutes of Health and The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture are reliable sources for finding licensed acupuncturists.

Ovulation

Your chances of becoming pregnant greatly depend on your menstrual cycle and its regularity. Ovulation usually occurs between the twelfth and eighteenth day of your cycle. During this time, you are at your most fertile and your chances of falling pregnant are maximized.

It is thought that ovulation is most likely to happen on day fourteen (this is based on a regular, twenty-eight day cycle.) A way of predicting your most likely day of ovulation is to subtract fourteen from the total length of your own menstrual cycle. For example, if your cycle is twenty-eight days, subtract fourteen to arrive at your optimum date of fertility, (in this is case, it would be day fourteen.) Nevertheless, women´s menstrual cycles do vary greatly; consequently, your day of ovulation may either be before or after day fourteen.Click Here!to getting pregnant with ease

How To Care For Your Body During Pregnancy

Michael Jordan

Being pregnant means following a healthy lifestyle is more important than ever. It´s crucial to understand what steps you can take to keep you and your baby in good health.

Prenatal care is one of the vital factors that ensure a

smooth pregnancy. The first checkup should occur during the first 6 to 8 weeks of your pregnancy, when your menstrual period is approximately 2 to 4 weeks late. For women who are relatively healthy and have no complicating risk factors, you will probably see your health care provider every 4 weeks until the 28th week of pregnancy, and then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks of pregnancy. After that you will have an appointment every week until you give birth through inducing labor or otherwise.

Nutrition

Proper nutrition is one of the best ways to enjoy a happy pregnancy. Because you´re eating for two, it´s doubly important to consume healthy foods and stay away from things that may harm your baby as it develops. When you´re pregnant, dieting and cutting calories is not a good thing - you will need to take in about 300 more calories a day to ensure you and your baby are properly nourished, especially as your pregnancy progresses. Caloric intake, however, can vary from woman to woman. For thin women, and women carrying twins, you may be required to consume more than 300 extra calories. Or, if you are currently verweight you might need less. No matter what, you´ll need to contact your healthcare provider to determine what´s best for you.

Of course, pure calorie consumption is not the only goal - you need to make sure that what you eat is nutritionally sound. Nutritious foods contain the essential vitamins and minerals that contribute to a baby´s growth and development.

Although a healthy diet is fundamental to caring for your body during pregnancy, it´s actually quite simple to integrate healthy living into your daily life. Maintain a well-balanced diet by following basic dietary guidelines. Lean meats, fruit, vegetables, whole grain breads and low-fat dairy products are all essential to maintaining good health.

Real, healthy food will provide your body with much-needed nutrients. At the same time, during pregnancy certain essential nutrients are required in higher-than-normal amounts. For example, calcium, iron, and folic acid are especially essential in the diet of a pregnant woman. Although your doctor may prescribe vitamin supplements, your diet still needs to contain nutritious food to provide your body with most of its nourishment.

On a normal basis, women need 1,000 mg of calcium per day, but during pregnancy, calcium consumption should rise in order to keep up with calcium loss in your bones. You can get calcium from a wide range of food products, including low-fat dairy products such as milk, cheese, and yogurt; orange juice, soy milk, and cereals that are fortified with calcium; dark green veggies such as spinach, kale, and broccoli; as well as tofu, dried beans, and almonds.

for more information visit www.pregnancyhelpspot.com

A pregnant woman requires 27 to 30 mg of iron per day because iron is used by the body to make hemoglobin, which is what helps red blood cells carry oxygen throughout the body. A lack of iron leads to a dearth of red blood cells, meaning the body´s tissues and organs don´t receive enough oxygen. With a baby on board, women need to pay extra attention to their iron intake.

Iron is found in both plant and animal matter, but the body absorbs it more easily from meat sources. The following are some foods that contain a good amount of iron: red meat, dark poultry, salmon, eggs, tofu, enriched grains, dried beans and peas, dried fruit, leafy green vegetables, blackstrap molasses, and iron-fortified breakfast cereals.

Many people have already heard about how important folate (folic acid) is for a pregnant woman. For pregnant woman, or those planning on becoming pregnant, it is recommended that you take 0.4 milligrams of folic acid every day. Many women choose to supplement their diet with vitamins in addition to any folic acid intake they receive from food.

It has been found that consuming folic acid 1 month before and during the first 3 months of pregnancy reduces the risk of neural tube defects by 70%, which is why it´s considered so critical. The neural tube is formed during the first 28 days of pregnancy, which is usually before a woman even realizes she´s pregnant, and it eventually develops into the baby´s brain and spinal cord. Lack of sufficient nutrition, particularly a lack of folic acid, may result in a neural tube defect such as spina bifida.

To remain healthy while pregnant, it´s also key to drink plenty of fluids. During pregnancy your blood volume increases, so drinking plenty of water is the best way to avoid dehydration and constipation.

Exercise is a great way to feel great throughout an entire pregnancy. There´s no reason to stop physical activity once you become pregnant; in fact, dietary guidelines suggest that you take 30 minutes or more each day to work out at a moderate pace.

During pregnancy, regular exercise prevents excessive weight gain, reduces problems such as back pain, swelling, and constipation, improves sleep, increases energy, promotes a positive attitude, prepares your body for labor and lessens recovery time after labor.

Proper sleep is another factor in maintaining health and comfort during pregnancy. Pregnancy can take its toll, and after a long day you will feel more tired than usual. As the baby grows bigger, it will be more difficult to sleep, but try to sleep as best you can - it will do wonders for how you feel!

Once you are ready to give birth and are considering inducing labor it is wise to consider all the advantages and disadvantages. (http://www.healthline.com/yourdoctor/pregnancy/inducing-labor/obip02-03tct-p1.html ) Indeed, several authorities recommend you give informed consent before labor is induced. Of course, the baby is an important concern when considering induction of labor, especially the baby's ability to breathe once delivered.

Following a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, exercising, and drinking plenty of fluids are all important to your overall well-being during pregnancy. If you strive to eat nutritious food and maintain a positive attitude during the course of your pregnancy, the good moments will definitely outshine the difficult ones.

Identical Twins

Twins are two people who have shared the same womb at the same time. They may also have come from the same egg. Twin births are becoming more and more common due to several factors such as increasing use of fertility treatments, child births at an older age, and even genetic factors. Women who are slightly above-average in build are also likely to have multiple births or twins. Certain ethnic groups are also found to have a greater twin population. One in every 250 births in the world could be an identical twin birth.

Identical twins are also known as monozygotic twins. They are from a single egg that forms a single zygote that splits into two embryos. Two fetuses emerge from the two embryos in the same womb. The exact reason for this splitting hasn´t been identified yet. Sometimes, identical twins also share the same amniotic fluid, making them monoamniotic. Otherwise, they are diamniotic. Twins sharing the same placenta are monochorionic. Those who don´t are dichorionic. This happens only in the case of identical twins. All monoamniotic twins are also monochorionic. This depends on the stage at which the zygote divides. Twinning at the earliest stages would result in diamniotic and dichorionic twins. Twinning that occurs four to eight days after fertilization and eight to twelve days after fertilization results in monochorionic-diamniotic and monochorionic-monoamniotic, respectively. Twinning twelve days post-fertilization may result in conjoined twins. Conjoined twins are attached to each other at some place. They may be more dependent on each other physically.

for more information visit www.pregnancyhelpspot.com

Since identical twins share the same sac, amniotic fluid, and placenta, there could be some complications in pregnancy. These could be a result of the entanglement of the umbilical cords or twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome because of the shared placenta. This may cause one or both the babies to be underdeveloped.

Identical twins are generally of the same sex. They have identical DNA and shared genes. They may be very similar to each other, almost like mirror images. Some twins can be told apart only by their fingerprints, teeth, handwriting, or any other intricate observations. However, they have individually different personalities and character traits. Twins are generally emotionally attached to each other and are also believed to live longer because of this attachment. Some people even believe that identical twins have their own language through which only the two of them can communicate. Some identical twins are also mirror twins—they are exact mirror images of each other. About one-fourth of all identical twins are mirror twins. Sometimes, one mirror twin may have a condition where some or all the internal body organs will be on the opposite side of the body. However, these are considered to be birth defects

During pregnancy your blood volume increases, so drinking plenty of water is the best way to avoid dehydration and constipation

How Pregnancy Pillows Can Save Your Back

Subhendu Zabada
Someone that has not been pregnant will never understand the discomfort it sometimes brings. Because the extra weight your body is carrying and the disproportionate manner it is situated, areas of your back, hips, legs, and feet often feel incredible pain and discomfort. However, pregnancy pillows can be used to ease the pain and support the extra weight. Pregnancy pillows can be used to sleep with or during the day to provide extra comfort needed.

Basically, pregnancy pillows are specially designed to fit on certain parts of your body and add support. There are several different types made to fit on your lower back, between your knees or thighs, on your neck, or on your stomach.

As you progress through the stages of pregnancy, it will be more and more difficult to get comfortable. It will likely get to the point that you have a hard time sleeping because every way you lay causes discomfort. As your stomach gets bigger, sleeping on your back will make you feel as though you can not breathe, and, of course, sleeping on your stomach does not work. For these reasons, you will most likely end up on your side. However, the extra weight makes your hips hurt and you are not able to reposition very well. Luckily, pregnancy pillows provide relief!

The ideal position is lying on your side with a Pregnancy pillows between your knees/thighs and another behind your back. The pillow between your legs offers support and relieves some of the pressure on your hips, while the pillow behind your back allows you to lie back slightly when you want to reposition. This gives you a range of motion and also gives your back a break. This way, you have the option to lie at almost any angle on each side, instead of being restricted.

Sitting for long periods of time also makes your joints ache when you are pregnant. A Pregnancy pillows behind the back will also help this, as well as propping the feet up periodically. Some women feel relief from placing a pillow in their laps to support the extra weight of their stomachs. These techniques can also be used when driving to prevent stiffness and discomfort.

There are many models of pregnancy pillows available. Some are made of regular pillow materials, such as cotton or down, and other, more expensive models, are made of memory foam. Take your time and try out the different kinds to pick the most comfortable for you.

Pregnancy Fitness After The Baby Is Born

What happened to that pre-pregnancy body you once had? After nine months of your body going through numerous changes, many of which you do not like or enjoy, your newborn is here and its time to lose the excess weight you have most likely gained. You can speed the process of regaining your pre-pregnancy shape by exercising regularly.

While it may not help eliminate any stretch marks you may have, exercise will help you regain the body you had prior to becoming pregnant. Some of the most common questions asked by new moms are: How soon can one begin postpartum exercises? How long will it take to regain my pre-pregnancy shape? And what are the best exercises to help me achieve my goals? Keep in mind one of the most critical factors that help determine the answers to these questions is how healthy you were during your pregnancy - both physically and mentally.

Have you ever wondered how celebrity moms lose their baby weight so rapidly? One of the most common reasons is because they exercise strenuously prior to and during their pregnancy. Celebrities have been known to lose up to 60 pounds in what seemed like a few days. However, please keep in mind that this is not considered as the normal time frame. These individuals are also quite careful (almost to the point of obsession) about the types of foods they eat. They are also quite able to afford personal trainers and nannies so that they can perform their exercise routines 5-7 days a week for many hours at a time.

Because most new moms have the regular everyday tasks to contend with such as work, errands, families, losing that excess weight after childbirth is not quite so easy. Hopefully you found the time and the desire to engage in some kind of exercise during your pregnancy, even on the days you just wanted to simply crawl back in bed. If you did, you will find that the process of losing that extra baby weight will be a lot easier for you than for new moms who did no exercise at all while pregnant. Exercising regularly during your pregnancy will have given you the opportunity to become familiar with what will motivate you, give you the best results, and identify the types of exercise that you

find the most enjoyable. Visit: www.pregnancyhelpspot.com

Walking, jogging, aerobics, yoga, and many other types of exercise will allow you to lose the extra weight more quickly and you will feel better at the end of each day. Having a new baby can be an exhausting task and the simple act of exercising regularly will undoubtedly increase your energy and stamina when you need it most. Most doctors will say that it is safe to start a post-pregnancy exercise routine six weeks after the birth of your child. Walking and swimming can be started shortly after your baby is born if you do so in moderate amounts at a slow pace. Work up slowly to the more strenuous exercises to ensure your safety and reduce the risks of any complications that could arise from over-exerting yourself before your body has had adequate time to recover.

Ways of Getting Pregnant With PCOS

By Peter Yoo
There are ways to get pregnant even if you have PCOS. Polycystic ovary syndrome is fairly common. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services state that one in ten women of childbearing age has PCOS so you should not feel alone. There are fertility options for you if you want to get pregnant but it is up to you to decide if you want to undergo these fertility treatments and if you can afford them.

Undergoing fertility treatments is a difficult decision to make and it can be a scary experience. The best way to not make it a frightening experience is to arm yourself with information on what fertility treatments are available and what each treatment entails. Knowing this will make this entire experience easier on your mind which does not need to be more stressed than it already is.

As mentioned before, you also need to figure out if you can afford these fertility treatments. Many insurance policies do not cover fertility treatments but some do. You should check to see what coverage you have and go from there. Again, it is all about acquiring as much knowledge about the situation you will face that will make a stressful experience more manageable.

PCOS does not mean you cannot have children. There are many women that have had children even though they were diagnosed with PCOS. Essentially, PCOS is when your hormones are out of balance. Your body has higher levels of androgens which causes you to not ovulate. Ovulation problems are a leading cause of female infertility so not being able to get pregnant due to irregular cycles or even no cycles are common. Realizing that other women have gone and are going through your situation can be comforting as there may be women in your community that can provide support.

When visiting your doctor about your fertility options, one of the first things you will typically come across is the use of fertility drugs. These drugs' purpose is to stimulate ovulation. It is not uncommon for doctors to prescribe two drugs like clomiphene and metformin to be used at the same time. If these drugs alone do not work, other procedures such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) can be used. Here is a list of several more procedure you should be aware of:

1. Laparoscopy

2. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

3. Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT)

4. Zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT)

5. Use of egg donors

6. Use of gestational carriers

This list is a just a partial list of what is available but each situation is different. Depending on various factors, your doctor may recommend using only a few of these procedures.

How to Guarantee Having a Girl Baby

How to Guarantee Having a Girl Baby

By Francesca Hopkins

In actual fact, there is presently only one way to completely guarantee having a girl baby and that is through the use of IVF techniques which include pre-implantation gender selection. Even having this procedure cannot guarantee that you will become pregnant as a relatively small number of implantations will lead to a successful pregnancy.

Having said this, there are a number of straightforward steps you can take which will certainly help to tip the balance in favor of having a girl. Male and female sperm have differing characteristics and we can use these differences to our advantage. Female sperm is slower-moving than male sperm. It can survive for a longer period of time and is generally more robust. Although you cannot guarantee a girl baby, you can improve your chances.

Firstly, ensure that you know when ovulation is going to take place. Ovulation happens 14 days before the start of the menstrual period and if you have any doubt about this whatsoever, then get hold of an ovulation predictor kit. Once you know when this is, you can help to guarantee having a girl baby by having intercourse up to two days before ovulation and then stop. The longer lasting female sperm will still be around the fallopian tubes when ovulation happens, whilst the male sperm will have perished. If you do have intercourse just before, or on the day of, ovulation, your chances of having a boy increase as the faster male sperm are likely to reach the egg first.

Although you cannot guarantee having a girl, you can also take advantage of the acidic pH levels which are preferred by female sperm. The conditions around the entrance of the vagina are acidic, so having intercourse using positions which involve shallower penetration mean that ejaculation happens where the female sperm is more likely to thrive. In addition, the longer journey up the vagina is more likely to favor the more robust female sperm. You can also consider using a mild acidic douche, and there are several "recipes" available.

The Risks of Smoking and Pregnancy

Many years ago, soon-to-be mothers would smoke throughout a pregnancy, having no idea that the tobacco was causing harm to both mother and baby.  However, over time significant research has gone into the risks of smoking, specifically when pregnancy is involved.  While quitting smoking is tough, remember that it is a decision worth making.  After all, you want to ensure you are healthy and that you bring a healthy baby into the world, giving him or her, the best chance at life.

One of the worst things a pregnant woman can do is smoke.  It is important to understand why stopping smoking is so vital.  For instance, did you know that cigarettes contain literally thousands of chemicals?  Even worse, some of the chemicals include lead and cyanide, known compounds that cause cancer.  This means that when you smoke, not only are these harmful toxins making their way through your body, but the body of your unborn child as well.  The result is babies are often born too early, they are underweight, and unfortunately, some die prior to birth or shortly thereafter.

Obviously, you want to do everything possible during your pregnancy to ensure the health and safety of your beloved baby.  Knowing the dangers associated with smoking and pregnancy is a step in the right direction.  Everything that goes into your body from food to beverages to medicine to cigarette smoke will be passed on to the baby.  Therefore, he or she is being robbed of needed oxygen and nutrients, while being exposed to toxins.

You see, cigarettes contain both carbon monoxide and nicotine.  These harmful chemicals go into battle as a team against you and the baby, reducing oxygen supply by narrowing the body's blood vessels, which includes all the vessels in the umbilical cord that nourishes the fetus through the developmental months.  Even worse, the red blood cells, which work by carrying the oxygen, will begin to accumulate carbon monoxide molecules.  Soon, oxygen is limited to such a degree that the baby suffers.

By smoking during pregnancy, you are increasing the risk of having a baby weighing 5.5-pounds or less, or even a premature birth by as much as 50%.  However, the most devastating effect that smoking has on pregnancy is that the risk of a stillbirth is more than doubled.  We know that you love and want your unborn baby.  With this information, you can see just how critical quitting smoking is.  If you are trying but finding that you cannot get past the horrific cravings, you should talk to your doctor about possible aids.

One option that you might mention to your doctor is a product called NicoCure.  Made from 100% natural ingredients, you do not have to worry about putting additional chemicals into the body, ones that would be passed to the baby.  However, even natural herbs should be approved before being taken.  If your doctor says it is fine to buy NicoCure, you will be provided with a money-back guarantee, one that promises you will quit within a 30-day period.  We know you can do it, for the sake of you and your new baby's health.

Of course, the best option would be to stop smoking prior to pregnancy.  If you are planning for a baby, then buy NicoCure ahead of time so by the time you conceive, you have the smoking habit behind you.  However, if you smoke and discover you are pregnant, the sooner you can do something about this habit the better off in the end.  Of all the decisions you have made in your life, the option to quit smoking for the sake of your pregnancy is one of the best, one you will never regret making.

Cold Sores and Pregnancy - What Effect Can it Have on Your Baby?

Very often cold Sores and Pregnancy go hand in hand. It is fairly common for pregnant women to have an outbreak of the HSV-1 virus, more commonly known as cold sores. Two common risk factors in developing cold sores include stress and a weakened immune system.

Since women tend to be under extra stress and have lower immune systems during pregnancy, cold sores can be prevalent. Many women become very concerned and fear for the safety of their baby. Although there is a small risk of the baby becoming infected, generally this is not something you will need to worry about. Let's take a closer look at cold sores and pregnancy, and the risks involved.

Herpes (HSV-1) is the virus that causes cold sores and it can be very dangerous to newborns. Pregnant women however, have very little risk of passing on this infection to their babies. You cannot genetically pass the disease onto to your baby. Skin to skin contact is necessary for spreading of the HSV-1 virus. Therefore, the only way that you could pass on the cold sore virus to your baby would be during the actual birth.

If you have had an outbreak during pregnancy, you will need to make sure that the infection has not spread to the area around the birth canal. If it has, your physician will need to perform a c-section, in order to prevent you baby from having direct contact to the virus during the birthing process. If the outbreak has not spread, you will be able to deliver vaginally, without the fear of infecting your baby. So in reality, cold sores and pregnancy can be common, but generally do not pose any risk to your baby.

Perhaps the greatest fear of your baby actually becoming infected with cold sores is after you have given birth. Your baby can easily become infected by someone who has a current cold sore outbreak. Someone who is having a HSV-1 outbreak can easily pass on the disease to your baby just from kissing him or her. Therefore, it is important to make sure anyone who has a cold sore outbreak does not handle your newborn.

As you can see many women do worry about cold sores and pregnancy. However, there really is little concern of the virus affecting your baby. Since there has to be skin to skin contact the risk is minimal. Of course if you do have an outbreak during pregnancy you should always consult with your doctor. They can then work with you to make sure you minimize the risk of passing on the HSV-1 virus.
